Penn accuses Alliance of saying one thing, doing another

Opposition member Marlon Penn has questioned the motives of the newly formed Alliance group in the House of Assembly, suggesting their words do not match their actions.
Penn made the remarks during a joint appearance with PVIM leader Ronnie Skelton on JTV, where the two confirmed that the National Democratic Party (NDP) and Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) are merging.
“What the other guys have been working on… they’re saying one thing, but the actions are showing something differently,” Penn asserted.
The NDP and PVIM announced that they have started the process of reunification following years of political division. The parties split in 2019 but now claim to be moving forward as one.
“We’re here to allow our supporters and the general public to recognise that we are doing things to bring both organisations back together,” Skelton stated.
Penn said his focus remained on uniting the two parties and that he had made this clear to all opposition members, including those who formed the Alliance group.
“My focus is the reunification of the organisation. I am not interested in starting any new organisation or any party,” he explained.
He added that while efforts were ongoing to work collaboratively, members of the Alliance blindsided the rest of the opposition by launching their group and writing to the Governor to remove Skelton as Leader of the Opposition.
“We were blindsided to hear… that a decision was made, a letter was sent to the Governor to remove Honourable Skelton as Leader of the Opposition and install the now Leader of the Opposition. None of that came out of the discussion that we had,” Penn said.
Skelton also confirmed he was never officially notified of his removal. “Up to now I have not received a revocation letter,” Skelton said.
The Alliance comprises three opposition members, including current Opposition Leader Myron Walwyn, but Skelton suggested their actions indicate they no longer support the NDP-PVIM merger. “The actions of my two colleagues, clearly in the general public view… A blind person with wooden glasses can see what their decision is,” Skelton said.
Penn said that while the merger between NDP and PVIM is advancing, it remains unclear whether Alliance members will still be part of the collective effort. “They will have to say whether they’re here or they’re there. You can’t be on the river and then on the bank,” he stated.

They’re laughing over at VIP. They got the opposition eating each other’s lunch now.
Great for politicians and reality show theatre, but bad for us voters!
The spiral downwards into the abyss, continues!
Shuddup…no credibility whatsoever. Why is he still talking. If you want to take a different direction do so but shuddup about blaming other people for your moves.
Both Marlon and Ronnie are very disho***t. I listened to the Alliance press conference and I observed some things that I compared to some actions.
If it was never for the formation of the alliance no discussions would have ever started in relation to getting those two parties back together. After 6 or so years of separation with both Ronnie and Marlon as leaders why is it that nothing happened?
The Alliance members have been the ones trying to get the groups together. They were the ones calling the meetings NOT Marlon or Ronnie. Marlon has a serious problem with the truth. He participated the least in the discussions and never once made any attempts at reconciliation with anyone because his only interest is to hold on to his so called leadership of NDP.
Ronnie only run to join NDP because Mitch and Mather got aligned with Myron and he was replaced as Leader of the Opposition. What Ronnie and Marlon could not do in 6 years they did in 24 hours just because he lost of position. He did the same thing in 2018 where he formed PVIM because he lost the election to Myron. This is behaviour of Ronnie and it’s terrible. If he doesn’t win he takes up his ball and goes home.
All their actions and reactions seem to be to protect their positions. The removal of Ronnie as opposition leader has nothing to do with the efforts to merge the parties in view. In fact, I understand that even the very Marlon complained bitterly about Ronnie’s lack of leadership in the position.
“What Marlon and Ronnie coulnt do in 6 years alliance do in 24 hrs” great summary hat off to you @When will Marlon tell the truth.
I do not believe a word from Marlon’s mouth. Not a word! And I have my reasons.
Penn you said one thing and do the other, you pretended to be behind the vote of no confidence while you assured natalio it’s failure because you won’t be there to support it, could Australia kangaroos ever come Infront of the BVI people? Not a true Patriot but a true connoisseur of power.
So true we know Marlon and Fraser were sn**es with that vote of no confidence that’s why Sl*man will always believe he is a dictator
I have a few simple questions:
1. What does the removal of the opposition leader have to do with the two parties coming back together?
2. Are you saying that the merger of the two parties could only happen if Ronnie is the leader of the opposition irrespective of the terrible job he was doing in the post?
3. Does the leader of the opposition position belong to one person or is it that according to the constitution the person who has the support of the most members on the opposition?
These are the questions lingering in my head.
The Alliance said that Penn has done nothing to attempt to brung the groups together. There were two meetings of the opposition to address the issues. The first one was called by Myron. The second was called by Mather.
They said at both meetings Marlon hardly contributed to the discussions. I believe them.
Yyy
So Marlon is saying that Ronnie and him came together because the alliance took the leader of the opposition from Ronnie. That’s crazy. Does the leader of the opposition belong to Ronnie?
So the discussions to merge NDP and PVIM started after 6 years because the alliance was formed. And the coming together happened instantly because the alliance took the leader of the opposition.
The Alliance is powerful. They made those two living dead move and finally do something!
“Alliance made the living dead come alive ” LOL keep it going !!!!!
A whole bunch of he say she say. let’s look at the facts we know for sure. NDP and PVIM trying to merge for years and for some reason has not been successful the reasons why previous attempts have failed remains unknown/ unexplained. Now as soon as a new faction (the alliance) has formed as a result of y’all inaction as well as Myron ambition and has voted to remove Skelton as opposition leader now a day after the parties can merge all of a sudden and trying to sell it to the public like the two events are not linked in any way and you were ‘blindsided’ and let’s be real Skelton was not a good opposition leader anyway. Y’all take too long to make a move so moves start getting make without you. Same thing like after the election after winning more seats than vip y’all always getting ‘blindsided’ because y’all always think you have more time than you have.
The only plan that * minded Ronnie and l**y Marlon have is to make sure that Myron does not come Premier. All this instant forming up together is solely for that reason. What they couldn’t do from 2019 they did in 2 days. They should be shame.
You been the most dishonest and selfish person in this whole ordeal. You are the one who started the island man thing but then saying to the public that we have to be respectful. You also have been heard speaking about the same Skelton who now you find it fitting to join up with because you think it will lead you to be premier. So if no one has told directly let me te you now, this is the talk in your own circle,Nobody is willing to follow you as a leader because they can’t trust you lead.
Out of Marlon and Andrew Fahie I don’t know who tell the most untruth. Marlon giving Andrew stiff competition.
Andrew still worse just because he was trying to use god name and prayer/ preaching to trick people then running going to obeah man in secret. You on a next level when you even try to con god and the people who believe in him.
Ronnie dissolve PViM without telling the members of the party that it dissolve. Could you believe this! Is this leadership? He said that the position meant nothing to him but still he still made that knee jerk reaction to dissolve a whole party the day after. And then saying he going back to NDP.
These are big men. Ronnie is like 74 or so and behaving this way.
It would be interesting to know which members he did not tell. Are we talking about the two that walked away and voted for his removal as Leader of the Opposition? How are they still considered members? Aren’t there other members who would have voted for its dissolution?
It now seems clear that this move was to force Hon. Skelton’s hands to go home and retire and then the defactors would return to take over PVIM. Not how it works. Build your own. You said Hon. Skelton is dishonest. Well, young leadership is good, no doubt, but they have to be ready to lead. We are looking with eyes wide open and lack of experience is showing big time. We are stagnant and unfocused here in the BVI and worried about all this jockeying for power and no concentration on the Territory as a whole.
We need transparent people with integrity running not people who try to get themselves and family members rich and feel like them above the law or cover for those who close to them who break the law! Get rid off all these jokers in and out of government!
Myron’s bloggers can’t see that the party heads needed to be part of whatever decision. And anything done without the leaders’ knowledge is and was a coup for leadership and does not reflect the party position on a whole because party’s have internal processes which involve their donors and advisors not just the elected members. What a shame. They’re the worst opposition in the history of the BVI.
Take your A back in your messy rat hole with your pi**.
They are all going to destroy/take each other out until one ram cat is left standing. No joke, there were two ram cats that use to come in my yard every night that I use to feed, I would give them each the same portion of food and one cut one on the side of his neck with his paw killing the other one because he wanted to dominate and control the food.
I want the alliance to continue to push forward. Do not get caught up in no back and forth with Marlon and Ronnie. They are two l**y ent**led people. The are the ones allegedly spreading this island man story about Myron and then pretend to act differently in public. Two sn**es especially that one Marlon.
This marriage not going to work between Ronni, Marlon and the three bandits so seperate from now. Ronni want Premier,Marlon want it and Myron say he have to be Premier, Mitch comfortable with deputy once he have power he good .
Mitch want to be Premier too. He sly like a fox waiting to eat them guys up. Don’t let him fool you all.
The three stooges. No thanks you – we don’t need them.
We need a new party who would be more concerned about the welfare of the people instead of positions and titles
