PHOTO OF THE DAY: Fallen billboard!
As billboards continue to pop up around the British Virgin Islands, one has collapsed on a vehicle that was parked in the Road Town capital.
When our news centre arrived at the scene near Fishlock Road, the extent of the damage to the vehicle was not immediately visible.
It is unclear what caused the wooded structure to fall and to whom it belonged as there was no images mounted on the downed structure at the time.
A number of billboards have been erected across the territory, signalling the election season where political candidates and parties campaign to increase their chances of getting elected.

A symbol for our times. Everything done really badly.
Looks like nobody is gonna pack behind those boards again.
cursed! It’s a sign, a sign I tell you.
Isn’t it wonderful to live in a country where the most important thing in the news is a few bits of timber falling over?
We are blessed. Other countries have wars, corruption, dodgy politicians, starvation, riots etc.
how lucky are we?
We just have corruption, dodgy politicians, serious organised crime and woeful infrastructure and public education, despite the billions of Government revenue received since the 1980s.
You are correct but I also suspect it is not your car.
I think that the board was intended for Paul Hewlett!
I guess this means that those persons and their party on that billboard or who was going on it already fall down.
billboard flimsy just like the promises these people make every 4 years.
I see what you did there! LOL
IDC I was gonna still ask her for a vote ?
failed state
I wouldn’t be surprised if the same car caused the sign to come down. Why would you even park there???
Bann the billboards from litering the landscape. They are not necessary. Everybody knows everybody on facebook anyway.
For years, the BVI has been operated in mediocrity at best. Instead of building infrastructure and public properties to international standards, we have been told so often that “we know how to do it here”. So, whilst poorer countries have better roads, electricity supply, schools, telephone services, etc., we have had to put up with third-world standards and others getting rich.
Enough is enough. Throw them all out.
If the elected politicians won’t declare all their personal interests, award every job and contract openly and fairly, then it’s time for another March, but this time against our domestic oppressors. Balsum Ghut will be filling up with the corrupt thieves.
They parked there because they are too trusting. Sign for the election.
If they were looking parking shade, they sure got it alright…
SENEGAL MAN……………TIMBER!!!!!!!!!
@Anonymous
Most of what you mentioned we have them here. Corruption, dodgey politicians etc. So I don’t know how lucky we are.
It’s a sign!
People park in that spot all the time – there is a high demand for parking in this area.
