PHOTOS: Cultural Food Fair 2025

A vibrant showcase of tradition and taste unfolded at the Cultural Food Fair held on August 1 as part of the Virgin Islands’ 71st Emancipation Festival celebrations.
Residents and visitors gathered in Road Town to experience a wide variety of local cuisine served alongside the sounds of live music and cultural performances.
The event paid homage to the Territory’s rich heritage, bringing generations together to celebrate freedom, resilience, and Virgin Islands pride through food, art, and community spirit.
BVI News photographer Andre ‘Shadow’ Dawson was present to capture the highlights:

How far backwards and underwe have fallen and sunk as a people.
Can be seen flages of almost all the majorimperialist colors and symbols from as far away as Asia.
But not one single referrence to our African Heritage can be seen.
What a shalow and hopeless people we have become.
It grieves the heart.
Do you really believe that Africans care anything about you.
The Cultural food fair was sad this year I actually thought there would be a large turnout. The vendors did what they could with what they had. Is it that people just don’t care anymore or deemed it no longer important?
Look at the turn out at the Sunday Morning Well
Not even 50 people . The majority were old folks
The BVI is no longer what it used to be
We have lost our pride !!!
The hypocrisy I think is killing us
Talking about
Spiritual Slavery
Mental Slavery
We cannot serve two masters … God is not mocked.
