Pickering explains Skelton Cline’s absence from talk show

Claude Skelton Cline

Amid the slew of criminal charges thrown at him recently, embattled talk show host Claude Skelton Cline was noticeably absent from this week’s episode of the Eye on the Nation radio show, forcing his co-host Dr Kedrick Pickering to give the audience an explanation.

Pickering hinted that the clergyman’s absence had nothing to do with the criminal charges that were made public last week.

“Unfortunately, I have to apologise for Pastor Claude Skelton Cline who has another engagement and he doesn’t think he’ll get out of it quickly enough to get here,” Pickering said at the start of the radio show which began only a few weeks ago. “It has nothing to do with other things that are happening, it’s just one of those things that are happening today and unfortunately he can’t be with us today and fingers crossed he’ll show up later in the programme.”

Skelton Cline never showed up, but businesswoman Shaina Archer-Smith sat in as a guest host.

The community has been on high alert to see the next actions that will unfold in the matter involving Skelton Cline — a former government consultant who picked up charges about government contracts awarded between 2008 to 2010.

He was charged with two counts of obtaining property by deception, four counts of false accounting, and one count of proceeds of crime. It is said that the clergyman was released on $100,000 bail with surety, but our news centre has not been able to confirm those reports.

Often perceived as a controversial character, Skelton Cline has maintained his innocence when criticized for the scandals relating to the government contracts he was awarded in the past.

He’s always been a staunch political critic and has dubbed himself as one endowed with a special grace for government and leadership, saying he has a unique understanding of how governance should function for the benefit of people.

I don’t know in the BVI’s laws. However, in some other countries, if it’s fraud there is no statue of limitation.

Dr. Pickering misses his rich white friends so much. He will do anything to get back over oil nut bay. He needs to be elected to get back in their good graces. When it came to doing things for those rich friends he was efficient. When it came to helping locals he came from every excuse in the book. Keep this man out of the government.

    • Enforcement is Key says:

Unlike most other European jurisdictions, the UK has no general statute of limitations for criminal offences except for minor offences tried in the lower courts.

    • @ DONT MIND DEM says:

All the charges he received are indictable charges. There is no statute of limitations for indictable offences which essentially are felonies as opposed to misdemeanors.

      To:DONT MIND THEM,

So if YOU know the statutes of limitation already run out, then don’t you think those brining the charges would know that too? You just want to be in thing. When Claude was doing his piss ripping off different government administrations and the tax payers, with sanction from Head Coach and whoever was the Financial Secretary at the time, people like you who knew about the wickedness didn’t shout out ‘lock em up’. But you want to come in here now talking about being statute barred.

Rumors indicates that Cline is a fugitive from justice in the USA/Detroit. He has never denied the allegations.
