Police concerned over high school ‘sex drugs’

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has raised concerns over the consumption of suspected ecstasy and sexual enhancement substances, including PPC, also known as ‘Pink Pussycat’, by students at the Elmore Stoutt High School.

Chief Inspector Kenrick Davis, head of the Criminal Investigation Department, confirmed these reports while speaking on ZBVI Radio.

Chief Inspector Davis highlighted that these drugs induce sexual arousal among students. He noted the emergence of troubling videos showing students engaging in inappropriate activities, which should alarm the entire community. He stressed that the issue extends beyond a specific location, urging society to focus on the general behaviour of students.

This issue is not isolated. Last year, authorities observed a pattern of drug-related incidents, particularly after the school reopened in August. The school reported several cases, leading to interventions by the police and social services. Davis said the police seized items and noted that investigations are ongoing to trace the supply chain of these substances.

“We were able to seize some items. We were able to interview students as well as other members of the community with a view to finding out the supply chain, where this is coming from,” Chief Inspector Davis explained.

Despite initial investigations and interventions leading to reduced incidents, there has been a recent resurgence in concerning behaviours among students. Chief Inspector Davis stressed that addressing this issue requires a collective effort from all sectors of society, including law enforcement, schools, social services, and the wider community. “I think what is happening should give the entire society pause, and we should have a concerted effort to mitigate this,” Davis asserted. “It can’t be just one agency.”

In a related matter, a message circulated via WhatsApp from the principal of Enis Adams Primary School is advising parents to discuss the dangers of accepting items from strangers with their children. Reports indicated that an individual unaffiliated with the school had been distributing candy and other items to students near the festival grounds. Chief Inspector Davis acknowledged these concerns and confirmed that the police are investigating the matter.

The RVIPF continues to monitor the situation closely, with officers present at key locations to prevent further incidents. Chief Inspector Davis reiterated the importance of focusing on the overall conduct of students and the potential influence of substance use on their behaviour.

The community is urged to remain vigilant and collaborate in addressing this pressing issue affecting the territory’s youth.

  6. Drugs in school says:

is not news it’s just life in 2025 education system. The sooner young teens are exposed to illegal drugs the sooner each teen can decide to abstain from drugs or take the risk of getting addicted. Ultimately it’s up to them!!

  7. huh who to blame.. says:

if parents would take a little more interest in their children instead of making them and have them running wild all 1am 2am at bars and clubs, what else do you expect..

    • Future says:

Not sure you understood the point of the article. Yes what you say is true some children are out late at night but the ones that do not go out late at night are being introduced to these things in school. At the gates of a school, parents are turning over the care of their children to the school. Some children are too innocent to even realize the dangers until it is too late.

A change in the demographics. A reinstallation of these VI with a population conducive to good parenting that will have the end result of a Community of civility upward mobility and whole family households.
Creating a BVI with the known element of destructive living has been the benign stupidity of all times.
An insult to our ancestors and to us as a people.
An inward look at our self destruct mentality and efforts made to make correction is urgent,

  10. save deh youths says:

been talking about the youths on these blogs for awhile now..

yall better wake up or the youths will wake you up

plz be careful of certain local bran names (iam, hnf, gas affiliation west bank etc)
pushing their agenda onto the youths cuz they are vulnerable and want to fit in. if you chk them only youths and criminals wear their clothing they can’t get it on regular working adults with sense so they target them.

The youths glorify the criminal lifestyle (drugs, sex, vioence, gang, guns, fast life etc)

if you check their social media post all of them including females posting songs about crime life and they throwing up gang signs and gun signs in them photos.

these youths need meaningful role models and people that discourage their current behavior right now their role models are criminals and adults that want to take advantage of them

them need after school hobbies and more hands on work not more festivals and parties.

  11. AS I SAID BEFORE says:

PARENTS NEED TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN CHECKED OUT TO SEE WHATS ON THEIR SYSTEM ( BLOOD TEST ) IT MAY SAVE THEIR LIFE OR EVEN UOURS / COCAINE AND OTHER MIND ALTERING DRUGS ARE DISGUISED IN MANY FORMS AND CAN BE SLIPPED IN YOUR FOOD , DRINKS OR IN WEED AND YOU WON’T KNOW UNTILL BECOME ADDICTED AND PEOPLE OBSERVE YOU ACTING WEIRD OR FREAKIE AGGRESSIVE , AND YOU MAY HARM YOURSELF AND SOME INNOCENT
PERSON , PARENTS CAN BECOME A VICTIM TOO / SO IF YOU ALL WANT TO ACT LIKE YOUR CHILDREN WONT GET IN THAT SH*T KEEP GOOLING YOURSELF

They could have withheld that info and try to keep a lookout in the area to catch the person in action.

the bvi done lost one generation to weed all they do it puff all day

  16. woah says:

Pink pussycat. Learn something new everyday. All they have is alcohol our drinking age is 16.

But alcohol sucks the only reason teens start drinking is peer pressure and lack of self confidence and the reason adults do it is addiction and lack of self confidence… No one likes to get hung over and do stupid stuff they don’t remember doing.

Come to think of it alcohol causes sexual arousal, addiction and overdose leads to death. Ecstasy or any pill can be tainted with opioids. Not a good idea for any one to take any street pill for fun as the first one can be fatal and one batch can be stronger than another.

Just legalize weed already no one dies from it!

Keep the teens away from the criminal lifestyle and off the pink pussycat… & teen pregnancy most likely by another student as if they need to be any more horny! I would have had a heart attack if I was any more aroused as a teen.

Save their liver. Worrying about a sneaky weed brownie or stoner teens who will do it anyways in 2025 is nothing compared to teens finding gateway to fun in guns, gangs, deadly fake pills, ecstasy & pinkpussycat.
