Police name trio charged in high seas drug bust

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has named the three persons arrested and charged following last week’s high speed chase on the sea that resulted in the seizure of two vessels, a large quantity of drugs, and the recovery of several weapons.

Dion Leslie McMaster, 38, of Brady Ghut was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another, unlawful possession of a controlled drug, keeping an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Zuri Reid, 40, and Ruth Gonzalez Tellez, 28, both of Belle Vue were also arrested and charged with keeping an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

BVI News was made to understand that a second suspect who was on the vessel with McMaster reportedly managed to elude the clutches of law enforcement during the operation.

According to the RVIPF, several others have since been arrested in relation to the destruction and theft of two seized vessels as part of the operation.

Police said one of the seized vessels suspected to be involved in ramming of the police vessel at sea was set ablaze at the Road Town Police Station in a calculated effort to destroy evidence. Law enforcers also said another was reported missing.

However, the Force related that all necessary examinations were completed on both vessels by the RVIPF, and no relevant evidence was destroyed by these actions.

Police have not yet revealed the quantity of drugs seized. However, Police Commissioner Mark Collins said the investigation remains active and police continue to seek the public’s support in the apprehension of persons involved in the incident.

Investigators are asking anyone with useful information to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or call anonymously through the Crimestoppers hotline number 800-8477-(TIPS).

From what has been shown of the Donzi with the rear side of the hull missing clearly shows that it was rammed by the police boat. If there was damage to the bow of the Donzi you could have said it rammed the police boat. Something not right about the police statement.

For every pound of COCAINE that is captured by law enforcement from BP, 100lbs enter the territory unrestricted by law enforcement by WP.

For every pound of MARIJUANA that is captured by law enforcement from BP, 100lbs enter the territory unrestricted by law enforcement by WP.

For every pound of GUN that is captured by law enforcement from BP, 100 GUNS enter the territory unrestricted by law enforcement by WP.

There is no law enforcement in the territory that targets WP. The law enforcement apparatuses of the territory discriminate against only the Black and Brown people of the territory.

It is clear as day that only those people (Black people) are targeted for observation, surveillance, detection hunting and arrest, while the white population, for decades now, are free to import, export, use, abuse, sell and do freely whatever they want.

They are accountable to no law of the BVI. And from the top honcho down to the who is who knows that. So when you hear them bawling bout corruption, know that they know who is corrupt and who is not.

There are marine assets available, but those assets only capture Black violaters. Are Black people the only people smuggling candy across these waters? The answer is abig HELLL NO!111. Te money is to big and to lucrative.. Even fools know better.

How is itthat those marine law enforcement assets never, ever capture any WP smuggling contraband of any knid into the territory? Isn’t that abnormal Mr. C.O.P., Gov.Deputy and others?
