Police probe ‘unauthorised aircraft landing’ at Anegada airport

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said it is investigating what it described as a recent unauthorised landing of an aircraft at the Auguste George Airport on Anegada.

The incident is said to have happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 20.

“Shortly after landing, a fire of unknown origin engulfed the aircraft. The blaze was extinguished by fire officers who are based at the airport,” RVIPF reported.

The police further said their investigation is active so no further information can be provided at this time.

The RVIPF has invited anyone who has any information relating to the incident to call the police intelligence unit at 284-368-9339.
