Police sergeant arrested for questionable testimony in court

Information reaching BVI News is that an officer attached to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has been arrested on suspicion of perjuring himself.

The officer is said to be a sergeant in the RVIPF.

BVI News has not yet verified his identity but our news centre understands that he gave inconsistent evidence when he was called to testify before the High Court recently.

The court case in which he gave evidence reportedly involves interdicted police officers Pamphill Prevost and Simon Power.

In the meantime, highly-placed sources say he has not yet been charged but could be indicted for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

BVI News will provide more on this developing story as information becomes available.

    • Nonsense says:

That man is being used as a scapegoat.

Ask them to tell us how many witnesses admitted to lying in the ongoing trial.

Why charge him but the other admitted liars are free?

  3. It Ain’t So says:

This gentleman was the last among many other witneses for prosecuters to have come to court to give evidince and guess what, he said the same thing those who went before him did, I hope Richard Rowe asks for the transcripts to ask the DPP and prosecuters to state the lie he perjured himself with.

As long as you do not agree or bow to the sistem it will be against you!

Guese another thing, to what I was made to understand he is a prosecuter witness so why did you prosecuter brought him to court?

Again to what I understand without any investigation he was charge and the nex day the procecruter was at court asking to dismiss the matter. Tis is a dirty plot in my opinin.

  4. To It ain't so says:

The Prosecution trying to undermine their own case. This should not have been in the public domain as yet while whatever other matter is before the court.

Very, very poor judgment from those in charge of the DPP’s office.

This case has been ongoing since 2012. Fire dem a**es for gross misconduct (have they been suspended on pay all this time?) and stop wasting limited taxpayer money on expensive overseas useless prosecutors and legal fees.

  7. O Yes says:

    A very dirty plot.

Tell us why the DPP was asking for the matter to be dismissed the next morning and why Sergeant Sebastien alone was charged for the same things he said in the last trial, BUT the star witness was admitting to lying on the stand.

    • It’s easier than a lost says:

Having the judge throw out the mater would be easier other than to suffer a lost and have to explain all the monies spent twise to lose twise

Never ever have I sin or know that a case is still on-going and a person is charge, abs the case is still going on. It was you who called the person to give evidence for your case.

DPP ( not the office but the holder) plz remember that a man fighting for he life, he future and he career will reveal all that has happened between the sheets and tell all. this desision was a bit rushed so is there more in the mortar than the pistle?

Rushing to charge your X so quickly doesn’t look so good at thes time does it ?

and they wonder why the UK wanna bring in their people, cant trust them here! dont know who is who and next thing you know you report something you see and someone come after you.

  9. Let’s Be Fair says:

In this case, this man came to court because he was issued ( to what my sources have told me) a subpoena by the prosecution, in February of 2022. He also came to court in 2019 for the same prosecution at the original trial. He statement of 2017 was used in 2019 and he gave evidence, the same statement was used for 2022. Let me first be clear a statement is only for reference, only what is said in the witness box is evidence. (Just for knowledge)
This young man gave he evidence which has been consistent with persons who came before not after but before him, meaning theirs and his was relatively the same. However He alone was arrested and charged, in the mean time the case is still going on and the transcript ( not word of mouth) but the transcript of this high court matter which is still going on currently has not been made available for the investigations. So tell us how can you or did you compare what he said in 2022 to what he said in the of 2019 trial through investigations. But Many of us without facts are already condemning this young man just because he is a police, the prosecution is trying to tank the case from the first day and to what I was made aware (from close sources) the case is being held sometimes is only for 1 hour because prosecution is struggling. Madam DPP if you want to have the matter be stopped, drop the matter for want of prosecution. Its not nice what you are doing to this young man for spite. I was elated to know that the judge saw through the antics being used by your office.

    Guilty!!!!!

  11. Nonsense says:

Until they can say where RD the star witness is, why he isn’t in the territory, why he isn’t charged with +++, who allowed him to escape from the territory and why he isn’t a star witness in this case like the 1st one, I’m not listening to a damn thing anymore.
