Positive case results in court closure

An employee of the Magistrate’s Court on Tortola has tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in the court being closed today, June 30.

According to a media release from the Governor’s Group and Office of the Deputy Governor, the closure is until further notice.

“In accordance with Public Health procedures, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated members of staff are being required to isolate for 10-14 days followed by the appropriate testing,” the media release stated.

As it relates to court proceedings, the release said some matters will be heard remotely and the parties involved will be advised accordingly.

    If the court is like every other government office I have been into lately, none of them will have been wearing their mask while in their office or behind the glass.
