Premier: How does the Opposition sleep at night?
Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley has questioned the integrity of Opposition members in the House of Assembly, accusing them of prioritising political gain over ethics.
Premier Wheatley likened the Opposition’s reported behaviour to a humorous television commercial. In it, individuals engaging in unethical actions justify their actions by claiming they sleep well at night thanks to their mattress.
He questioned whether the Opposition members also had such a mattress, allowing them to sleep comfortably despite their actions. “How will you go home tonight and sleep soundly and comfortably at night after the display that took place here today? I mean, it is truly disappointing,” the Premier said.
Premier Wheatley endorsed comments made by Education Minister Sharie deCastro condemning the Opposition’s behaviour. The Premier said she spoke with “great wisdom” despite being the youngest member of the House.
Premier Wheatley criticised the Opposition for abandoning ethics, morals, and values to “take off the head of the snake” for political power. “It seems to me that all ethics, morals, and values just go out the door,” he argued.
Who to blame?
Premier Wheatley made it clear that as Finance Minister, he was never informed that the new salary structure for public officers would exceed the budgeted amount. He emphasised that the House of Assembly approved the $11.7 million allocated for this purpose. A subsequent analysis by the Ministry of Finance revealed a significant variance, with the actual requirement being over $25 million. The Premier said this meant a budget shortfall of $13.3 million, but Opposition lawmakers argue that the actual deficit was closer to $20 million.
However, Premier Wheatley blamed the Governor’s and Deputy Governor’s offices and criticised the Opposition for using the issue to score political points despite being fully aware of the constitutional responsibilities and the complexities involved.
Premier Wheatley stated that he entered public service to solve problems for the people of the Virgin Islands, not to engage in power struggles. He reiterated his commitment to addressing the territory’s issues. He expressed dismay at the Opposition’s approach, which he suggested undermines the collective efforts needed to address the challenges ahead.

Hypocrisy. This Premier doesn’t know what ethics, morals, and values are.
LEH HE MOVE HE LESS @$$
Boss man how do you sleep at night knowing you ain’t do a thing for the BVI since in politics. Knowing you getting good pay and getting to travel and drive around in nice vehicle and all the other perks and you ain’t do a thing to benefit the BVI and knowing everybody got you to be an idiot. How do YOU sleep at night?
THE BIGGER QUESTION IS HOW YOU NATALIO WHEATLEY SLEEPS AT NIGHTS.
How do you sleep good at nights Mr. Premier? My bad, you sleep good at nights when you fly off on the taxpayer’s dime in your first class seats, check into luxary hotels and host hood rat ghetto parties. Yes Mr. Premier, you are just like the ghetto hood rats, only difference you wear a suit and tie and ride around in the taxpayer’s vehicle.
That AC vehicle that the Premier is riding around in big pimping doing nothing belongs to us the taxpayers. As long as we are paying the bill, we own that and he need to remember that every time he step foot in our vehicle. Thing is why we have to pay to put gas in our vehicles and he can pull up to the pump and get free gas.
When the Words: Morals, Value, Ethics, Integrity are mentioned, doesn”t that bring to Mind how Members of our HOA when travelling from Country to Country with a different Mistress in their Hotel Room even when they have Wives back home? To me,That is Hypocrisy. How can one sleep well at Night knowing that indeed
this is happening? Our HOA is likened unto a Circus Show.
will it’s better than the tall one with male in his room.
So go talk that bossie
Sadly, if BVI history is anything to go by, morals, ethics, integrity, and values are merely theoretical concepts in this Territory. Politicians don’t seem to know anything about such things and seem only interested in enriching themselves. When out to task, it’s the blame game.
If morals, ethics and integrity were Voters don’t seem demand to demand morals, integrity, ethics and values for politicians either, maybe because if they did, there’d be no one to vote for.
The Premier can bawl all he wants but it is his administration. Leadership means you own the mistakes of the people you lead, whether or not you were told at the time they were made. Leadership means that when you take over you develop and implement a plan to move forward fixing mistakes that others may have made previously instead of saying “it wasn’t me”. But that’s another theoretical concept in these islands.
WE THE TAXPAYERS IS ALSO PICKING UP THE TAB FOR THE PREMIER TO FLY HIS … WHEN HE TRAVELS. THESE WOMEN IS DIRTY SKANKY CHEAP TARTS/GARBAGE. ONLY DIRTY DESPERATE WOMEN WILL MESS WITH A U BLACK FACE LOOKING MAN LIKE THAT. WHAT A SET OF DISGUSTING LOW CLASS WOMEN. AL OF YOU ALL TIME IS COMING. JUST REMEMBER THE AMERICAN AIRLINES PLANE THAT CRASHED IN ST. THOMAS A FEW YEARS BACK? THE CHEATING HUSBAND AND HIS MISTRESS PERISHED ON THE PLANE.
I remember that, the ba**ard use to take his mistress, side chick or whatever you call them on his trips form the US when he travel to ST.Thomas. And guess what? when the plane slide across the runway and hit the gas station, him and the mistress burned up together in the first class seats they were sitting in. You play the dirty game one day you will get burned.
Yes the opposition made it a political issue rather then call out the possible corruption between the DG/FS offices. They tried to put it on the Premier. But they themselves weren’t aware of the scheme either, so it could’ve happened to either government, unless the said government did not plan to implement the salary increase. We need an investigation and some suspensions until we know this wasn’t a blatant and willful act.
The $250,000 dollar question is how do you/can you sleep good at nights Mr. Rutting unfixed smelly stinky ram goat. I guess you sleep well at nights on your travels laying up on satin and Egyptian sheets surrounded by harlots and jezebels hand feeding you grapes.
I agree with your comment 100%. But here is a news flash for y’all, .. not the only Politician here in the BVI that is traveling with their side wh**es and mistress(s) on the taxpayer’s expense while the suffering wives is left behind.crying, shame and humiliated.

the only time you guys dont sleep fine is when yall get caught in your wicked schemes or when someone like UK threaten your authority
He is very correct, The Premier is not responsible for the error or short fall in the budget but the department that prepared the budget and its Budget Director. However he is still accountable for the shortfall and is to be partially blamed..lol…
How the Opposition sleep at nights? The 20 million dollar question is how are you sleeping at nights and with whom? Notice he is standing in front of his evil mentor picture.
