Premier is probably ahead of his time

Premier Wheatley.

While encouraging the territory’s leader to be bold in making unpopular decisions to build the country, D3 Representative Julian Fraser said he believes Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley is probably ahead of his time.

While speaking in the House of Assembly on April 9, Fraser spoke directly to Premier Wheatley and encouraged him to borrow, build and make unpopular decisions to move the BVI forward.

The senior legislator said although Wheatley is the youngest Premier the territory has ever had, he’s the right person to make those decisions the BVI needs to enter a brighter future.

“I feel like I’m wasting my time talking to you about these things. I should be telling your government to slow down but here I am telling you to speed things up. Do you know why I’m telling you these things, Premier? There’s something about you, I don’t know, you’re probably ahead of your time but yet at the same time this is the right time for people like you,” Fraser said to the Premier.

Fraser then mentioned other young leaders around the world who are making global headlines because of unpopular decisions they’re making to advance their countries.

“There are some bold things taking place in the world by people of your age. Do you know why they’re doing it? Because they’ve seen the failures of their elders which they don’t want to repeat. Look at Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger. Look what is happening in Senegal – the youngest president in Africa just got elected and he’s telling France bye-bye. Check the generation that’s doing it,” Fraser added.

Although the Wheatley administration has taken on the mandate to rebuild much of the infrastructure that previous administrations didn’t, many have said he shies away from issues that require bold actions like resolving the stalemate that has caused horseracing to be on pause in the territory.

Others have said he is afraid to overrule senior permanent secretaries in various ministries whom they say have traditionally dictated how government funds are spent.

don’t you bvi islanders rather prefer to live in peace and harmony and in cooperation with the uk/british government for a stable economy and for a military to protect our islands and our environment. ask the uk/british government their intentions. ask the uk/british governement are you violating our human rights? can you work together for betterment for the society and the environment that we live in for food clothing housing healthcare and a high standard of living and for life expectancy. what do you bvi islanders prefer? a country with wars and famines and pestilence? at least you have a job a career and a profession in the public service so you should not complain but instead work together for betterment of everyone in the bvi. we living in a very fragile environment that needs to be protected for human life to survive.

  3. Huh? says:

Fraser is praising the new leaders of Niger, Mali etc. That region, called the Sahel needed help from the French and the US to fight terrorists for years. Unfortunately, the people have been manipulated to turn against the French and the US and have run into the arms of Russian mercenaries like the Wagner group. This will not end well for the people. These leaders in the Sahel are not visionary. It has been one coup after another in recent years destabilizing the region. Fraser, I’m sorry, but this is not something to applaud. The BVI needs to work with the UK and the US not run into the arms of governments that are dictators.

What he’s actually saying is that the territory is falling apart and he as the leader has to make decisions to better his generation and do it fast.

Got to check whether Frazer had a mini stroke during this session. We do not have financial statements for government and he urging this man to spend. D3 you all have to find better representation.

  13. Jokes says:

Hey Fraser, even if the Premier is ahead of his time, he is still a damn di**it.Fraser, are you sure that you are not suffering from early Dementia?

  14. Look at Fraser comparison says:

Bye – bye France while tribal wars are killing the continent. Black leaders are not much better than the colonial masters . They oppress, kill, enrich themselves and the beat goes on . What has Natalio done differently

Look at his spending priorities. Go sit down Fraser with your nonsense. You need to go home

  15. Fraser says:

  16. Brain quiz says:

If a senior person over 60 years says a colleague is ahead of his time is this person:

    1) In the wrong time zone?
    2) Unable to tell time?
    3) Running out of time?
    4) Expired as in out of time?
    5) Living in over time?
    6) All of the above

  17. YES TO UK says:

First the Premier said that these social events will help the territory generate funds needed for upgrades in health, education and the territory’s infrastructure. Then he turned around and said it hoped to break even or possibly make a profit. So in other words you are gambling the tax payer’s money instead of fixing things in the BVI. I have seen people gamble there rent money in hopes of winning so they have a little extra they lose the rent money and put themselves in more death. Natalio Wheatley you really need to step down you are not fit to run a candy store much less a government. UK how much longer you are going to allow this craziness to go on?

  18. Well says:

A broken clock is right twice a day. About the same as this m** m**.
