Premier ‘staying on path to prosperity’
Premier and Minister of Finance Dr D Orlando Smith will present the mid-year review of his government’s work in a radio and television simulcast at 8 o’ clock this evening, July 10.
The government’s Director of Communication, Arliene Penn, said the premier will talk about initiatives his administration has been working on since it returned to office for a second consecutive term in 2015.
“He will report that his Government has remained dedicated to advancing the development of the territory, and the ongoing commitment for staying on the path to prosperity strengthening all sectors of the Virgin Islands economy,” Penn said.
She further stated that the work of the government continues to be carried out under specific areas of interest: improving social services programmes; strengthening the educational sector; protecting borders, enhancing law, order, public safety; stimulating/fixing the economy; improving the standard of living; infrastructural development; and ensuring public sector reform.
The government has indicated that members of the public will be able to hear the premier’s address on all major electronic media in the territory, starting at 8pm.
