In a race won by Jelani Croal, 2019 BVI Road Racing Female Athlete of the Year, Katrina Lindsay ran a record-breaking time to take the spotlight at the recently-concluded Mourant H Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) Classics Race Series on Virgin Gorda.

Croal ran a time of 11 minutes and 29.39 seconds. He was closely followed by Lindsay who was the first female to finish in a record time of 11 minutes and 35.07 seconds, breaking her previous record of 11 minutes and 40.34 seconds set back October 2019.

To put that time into perspective, the next female to finish the race placed eighth overall with a time of 14 minutes and 25.72 seconds.

In a media from HLSCC, Race Director Stephanie Russ-Penn extended appreciation on behalf of the college to the individuals who participated in the finale and those that have participated in the event throughout the years.

She said the finale on Virgin Gorda along with the previously held Mourant HLSCC Classics Special Edition Series on Tortola were both earmarked as they celebrated the 25th anniversary of the race series.

The final race of the series is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 at the HLSCC campus and will showcase relay teams for the first time in the series’ history.

Teams of three persons can register to participate and due to the limited numbers, interested persons are asked to contact Director Russ-Penn via telephone at (284) 496-7155 or via email at [email protected] to register.
