Residents invited to send relief items to SVG

Despite the pinch locals are feeling from the onset of COVID-19, civic organizations and the government have organized a relief drive to collect items on behalf of St Vincent and the Grenadines who are enduring the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano.

The collection period for the drive will be from April 14 to 20.

It’s been organised by the Lions Club of the BVI in collaboration with the BVI Vincentian Association, the BVI Rotary Club. the government, DMM and the BVI Red Cross.

Persons are being asked to donate items such as water juice, salt, sugar, canned foods, and disposables similar to hurricane supplies.

Mattresses, cots blankets, sheets, pillows, over-the-counter drugs and daily hygiene supplies are also needed. Additionally, residents are being asked to donate flashlights, candles, face masks, hand sanitisers and other first-aid supplies.

Knowing what I went through here it’s like a replay of what’s happening in my country so I’ve decided to collect weather it’s food or clothing don’t necessarily have to be monitary but will accept and am Sending directly to the pastor of a church where I know the people of that shelter will receive the goods the store opposite the fire station will be collecting on my behalf so persons who wish to contribute can drop off items there from tomorrow
