Scar charged for Snoopy’s murder

Members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) yesterday arrested and charged 27-year-old Vicardo ‘Scar’ Farrell of Major Bay for the murder of Devern ‘Snoopy’ Stanley.

Farrell was also charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm, and unlawful possession of explosives after he was held with a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol and 11 rounds of ammunition.

Police said they apprehended Farrell during a joint patrol in East End between the RVIPF and the Cayman police.

A police media release this afternoon said: “Commssioner of Police Michael Mathews remarked that despite the challenges posed by the passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria, the police are still vigorously pursuing those responsible for serious crimes to ensure victims and their families know that the police have not given up on ensuring justice takes place on their behalf.”

Stanley’s body was found in Rouges Bay nearly two months after his family reported him missing on June 5 last year.

Pathologists said he died from a blunt force trauma to the head.

Police, in the meantime, said persons wishing to assist may contact Detective Inspector Goff of the Major
Crime Team at 284-368-9342.
