Scooter rider overseas after serious crash
A man has been airlifted overseas for treatment after he suffered serious injuries when the scooter he was riding reportedly plunged into bushes near Big Bamboo Restaurant on the island of Anegada.
The injured man is a resident of the US Virgin Islands.
It is said that he suffered serious head injuries.
However, it is not clear if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Reports reaching BVI News Online are that, a few days ago, the accident victim and his son were riding separate motorcycles when the rented scooter sped off the roadway into bushes.
Members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force as well as the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service visited the scene.
The accident victim was airlifted to Tortola to undergo medical examination at Peebles Hospital. He was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit at the medical facility before he was sent abroad for treatment.
