Reports reaching BVI News Online are that police have held a second suspect in relation to the gun murder of bar operator Franklyn Fahie.

Law enforcers held the young man during an operation in which an illegal item was found.

The said item may be very crucial in determining if the second suspect held is charged with the murder, highly placed sources have told BVI News Online.

The second suspect is still in police custody in relation to the murder probe as well as other incidents.

After Fahie was shot, detectives reportedly recovered – among other things – a bullet casing.

BVI News Online, early last month, reported that a first suspect was held in relation to Fahie’s murder.

Commissioner of Police Michael Matthews later confirmed that information regarding the first suspect.

Information suggests that more than one person may have been involved in the murder.

Fahie was shot in a bar he owned in the Long Look area of Tortola on the night of January 6.

Eyewitnesses claimed that he approached the gunman shortly after he (the gunman) entered the bar.

Fahie reportedly spoke briefly to the gunman who then shot him in the chest.

He fell, and the gunman allegedly robbed one of the male patrons of jewellery and money before he exited the establishment.

The other persons at the bar were not harmed.

Fahie was taken to Peebles Hospital where he died while undergoing surgery.
