Security guard charged for assault on bar worker

The police has charged 47-year-old security guard, Keithley Liburd for allegedly assaulting a female employee of a bar in Purcell Estate.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said the Lower Estate resident was formally charged on Tuesday for the reported incident; the video of which has been circulating on social media platforms locally.

“The charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm stemmed from an altercation between two, captured on video, as she was being escorted outside and away from the premises,” the RVIPF stated in a short media release.

It added: “The female employee later laid a complaint against Liburd who was, at the time, providing security services for the establishment.”

In the meantime, the accused man has been granted $3,000 bail ahead of his appearance in the Magistrate’s Court on March 1.

  1. @ SECURITY GUARDS ? says:

they need to be trained on how to deal with certain people and situations ( sometimes the position of authority can play tricks with some people’s mind ) simple common sense can work 99% of the times, instead of aggression
