Stop blaming D’Moi Hodge!

Scores of fans on social media have rushed to the defence of D’Moi Hodge, saying residents shouldn’t blame the Lakers star for Tortola’s loss against the USVI in the King of the Courts Caribbean Championship 2024.

The final game of the tournament ended 88-67 in favour of the USVI team. Amid the disappointment, some BVI residents expressed disappointment in D’Moi Hodge, saying he missed shots and did not play as well as they expected.

However, many others have rushed to Hodge’s defence, saying he shouldn’t bear the responsibility of Tortola’s loss, especially since he went into the tournament grieving the loss of his father.

“Last night, USVI players played the game as a team and BVI players played the game against each other. Why are people mad at D’moi? It took courage, determination, and BVI pride for him to step on that court knowing he lost his father. He missed a couple of shots last night and ayo mad. Ayo put so much pressure on him to help the team win. Keep the same energy and be proud of him for showing up because he didn’t have to,” one Facebook user said.

“Set of fake people. All of them were parading his victory when he made it to the NBA,” another person stated.

“Well, they acting like he alone is the team,” another person said in response to D’Moi’s critics.

Other Facebook users pointed out that the reason many were disappointed was because they placed bets and had high hopes that Tortola would win, especially with D’Moi’s help.

“They all bet money and lost… set of heartless, ungrateful people in this place,” one user expressed.

Amid the criticism, many residents used their Facebook platforms to send condolences to the D’Moi and his family, saying it took great courage and loyalty for him to support Tortola’s team while grieving the loss of his father.

  1. BS says:

Not a soul blamed Dmoi! People always playing the victim role looking attention. Everytime they go hospital it is a picture of themselves with the hospital wristband or iv in their veins they have to post. Everybody happy he came home and wished we could have won the trophy of course but no one blaming him for losing an unimportant game in an unimportant tournament for bragging rights.

YOUNG MAN, DONT PUT YOUR CAREER IN JEOPARDY AND END UP GETTING HURT ON ANY BVI BASKETBALL COURT.

  3. Gimme a break says:

How you expect Hodge to be a superstar on a team he doesn’t;t play with? Also, and I’m just saying, he wasn’t really an NBA player. He played a couple Lakers games thanks to a 2-way contract with a farm team. We are guilty of over-hyping our boy.
