Teen arrested for stabbing boyfriend

As the territory continues to grapple with serious cases of intimate partner violence, BVI News understands that a 17-year-old female has been arrested and charged after reportedly stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic altercation.

It is unclear whether the young woman is enrolled in any of the territory’s high schools, and the age of her boyfriend has not yet been confirmed.

Sources indicate that the incident took place at their shared residence, where a heated argument escalated into violence. The teen allegedly used a tool to stab her boyfriend multiple times. It is understood that the boyfriend also stabbed her during the altercation. Both reportedly required medical treatment for their injuries.

Reports suggest the young woman sustained more serious injuries than her partner. During the incident, she is also alleged to have broken windows and caused additional damage to the property. It remains unclear whether she will face further charges in relation to that damage.

According to reports made to BVI News, it was the boyfriend who contacted the police. He was injured at the time and was advised by officers to seek medical attention. He was later arrested and charged.

The young woman reportedly told authorities that she acted in self-defence after being attacked by her boyfriend.

At this time, it is unclear whether the charges against either individual have been dropped or whether they are expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court to answer to the allegations.

Wron, wron and wrong in most instances.

Women, then or now were not all docile “do what you want with me” and take it souls.

Though they did not fight back physically, some of them, for mostly economic and survival reasons, didn’t fight back.

For example, they would contaminate food, refuse to do his clothes and worst, many men were dispatched with through spiritual means, and still happening today..

There is only a few men who are known abusers are still around today.

At 17 years old, should be thinking about college or University and living with a boyfriend is kind of absurb since she probably doesn’t have a job. Seems like coming from a broken home which is the fabric that helps creates a broken society.

    • No offense says:

But you are pretty stupid. Domestic violence, incest, child abuse, elder abuse are on the books in the Virgin Islands BEFORE the “island people” started coming here. Look it up if you care to be enlightened. Don’t bother if you prefer to live in ignorance. One of the biggest problems in the Virgin Islands, and I say this freely as a Virgin Islander, is that we like to blame everything going wrong here on other people. We are just such perfect Christians. But in fact, we just can’t face who we really are. All these abuses used to be considered “family matters”. Most people still think it’s a private family matter. Yes women took abuse, and still do in many instances, because they have no where to go and have to continue to take abuse in order to house and feed their children. Look that up too. This outdated stupidity of believing domestic violence doesn’t happen here, or it’s those island people is why we just can’t get better and no matter how many laws there are for things like this the laws don’t apply to Virgin Islanders, only to island people. Stupidity is keeping us back.

    17 and with her boyfriend…

I was the saying the youths being led astray by crimes, sex, drugs, local brands that are influenced my criminals, music artists, songs promoted here during festive and parties but it seems the parents are just as much as to blame. Wether a single parent home cuz the parents couldn’t choose a decent person to lay down with or is two parents that got home training and passed there nonsense onto the spouse rinse and repeat.

    We in trouble

So all the bad men and scandalous women will out number the decent men and virtuous women…..

Kinda done started tbh considering seeing so much young females dressing a certain way and chasing a type of guy only to end up a single mother or cheated on or no ring

Then why have large number of young men involved in gangs, smoking on the block, trying to get a fast life, school drop outs……
