Teen caught in Pier Park fight over alleged love triangle
A physical altercation broke out last week at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park between a 23-year-old jewellery store employee and a 17-year-old girl — reportedly over a man both were allegedly involved with romantically.
It remains unclear whether the teenager is enrolled in high school or if charges will be brought against either woman.
According to sources, the Pier Park employee allegedly confronted the teen about offensive social media posts. The dispute escalated from a verbal argument into a physical fight, reportedly in the presence of the teen’s mother.
Police were called to the scene and questioned both parties along with witnesses. The teen allegedly admitted to making the posts but denied directly referencing the Pier Park worker. However, the worker told police she believed the posts were targeted at her and linked the conflict to a man both women were romantically connected to.
No confirmation has been given that charges will be laid, and no serious injuries were reported.
The incident comes amid heightened concerns about student behaviour both in and outside schools. The Education Ministry and police have been monitoring certain high schools and implementing intervention initiatives to address disruptive behaviour among young people.
