Teen student arrested for allegedly firing illegal gun
BVI News understands that an 18-year-old student was arrested and charged this week after allegedly firing shots from a firearm police later found strapped to his body.
The young man’s school hasn’t been confirmed but it is reported that he is a resident of the Belle Vue community.
The incident reportedly took place in the Gene Hill area. While our news centre has not been able to ascertain whether residents alerted police to the gunshots, sources said the lawmen were quick on the scene.
However, BVI News understands that law enforcers did not manage to capture the occupants of a vehicle that quickly drove off as soon as the cops were spotted. But the 18-year-old was not as quick to escape and was arrested.
Later on, a firearm was removed from his clothing. It is understood that the cops believe the weapon was the one that was discharged. Our news centre understands that an undetermined number of spent shells were found nearby.
The teen is reportedly in custody but it is not yet clear whether he will be granted bail. In the meantime, there is no word on the age of the persons who fled the scene and whether they too will be arrested.

Not so long ago a teacher got a bullet to the leg. Up to this day, no one has been arrest or even charge for such.

Discipline starts at home, these kids obviously do not have any. That is the culture here, and it will take a lot of hard work to change it.

This is the worst type of person to have a gun. A young person will be quick to do something stupid, which is probably the exact reason he got himself and probably almost got other people arrested!!
Who ever is giving or selling guns to young men who havent been through the fire if life you should be ashamed and held.
Next thing you know one of these young hot heads will turn & light up the supplier. That would be karam. Bet on young people doing stupid things.
I wouldnt be surprised if the gun dealers are also young persons put on by older folk who knows better than to risk themselves selling the weapons to kids.

They need to not only arrest him but follow this up the trail to the very heart of who ever is giving or selling guns to kids! That will teach them from being stupid.
