PRESS RELEASE: The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for road, slope stabilisation, and drainage works at Windy Hill on Tortola.
Director of Communications, Mrs Arliene Penn said the proposed works involves reinforced concrete retaining wall construction, reinforced concrete road pavement construction, and reinforced drain construction.
Mrs Penn added that the works include furnishing all plant, labour, equipment and materials, and performing all operations in connection with the road, slope stabilisation, and drainage works.
Interested tenderers must submit all necessary documents to prove that the company is experienced in road and drainage works and is compliant will all the requirements to operate a business in the Virgin Islands.
Mrs Penn said: “Interested persons must provide the Procurement Unit with proof certificates of good standing in respect to social security and taxes including payroll taxes and property taxes, trade licence and National Health Insurance and a tender security from a bank or insurance company for a sum equivalent to one percent of the contract sum.”
She added that tender documents are available upon request from the Procurement Unit/PSSU Conference Room on the second floor, Qwomar 2. Tender documents are available from Monday, February 5.
The pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 16.
A non-refundable fee of $250 payable by cash or bank cashier’s cheque is required for the tender documents.
Interested tenderers should submit one original and two copies of the tender and all tenders must be deposited in the tender box at the Procurement Unit no later than 10am on Tuesday, March 13.
Tenders will be publicly opened at the Procurement Unit on Tuesday, March 13 at noon. Tenderers are invited to attend.
