This online nonsense doesn’t work! Skelton Cline blasts e-learning

The real cost of keeping children out of school, even as they continue to engage in online learning, may not be something that is being properly calculated by the powers that be.

This was the view political commentator, Pastor Claude Skelton Cline, expressed when he appeared on his radio show, Honestly Speaking recently.

As he railed against the current dispensation, the clergyman said that since 2017, children have lost too many school days that is now cumulative to semesters.

The talk show host said private schools have reopened and his child is currently in school.

He said this showed he was not speaking selfishly on the issue but was instead advocating for those who did not have access to a microphone or a similar platform.

“We are going to reap the whirlwind if we don’t get our act together with our education by ensuring that our children are in school,” Skelton Cline said.

While arguing that officials ought to chart the way forward with exactness, boldness and clarity, he said this must include giving children face-to-face time in school.

“This online nonsense does not work. Don’t try to convince me otherwise. I hear too many reports that put our children at a complete disadvantage,” Skelton Cline said.

He urged teachers, teaching assistants, and auxiliary personnel to become vaccinated or show just cause why they will not.

“You can’t sit around and talk about this building don’t have proper ventilation. [That is the] perfect [example of] becoming the enemy of the good,” Skelton Cline stated.

He added: “The more days we keep our children out of school, the further behind they are left.“

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Online learning is a joke and children will continue to fall further and further behind because of it, or just stop going altogether. Kids are not at risk from Omicron. Let them learn and give them their lives back.

We can’t be penny wise and pound foolish. Children are getting sick from omicron and many have had to be hospitalized.
We have over a thousand cases right now with 16 persons in the hospital as a result. We don’t need for that number to go up. We do not have the physical or human resources to handle much more than that. Over 100 health workers are home with the virus.
Online learning will not be forever. Let us be patient and make do with what we have now. Once our numbers are at a reasonable level, we can send the children back out.
Let’s be guided by the health authorities.

Children are being hospitalized from Omicron? Where? Which children? This is news to me.

After two years of Covid, “two more weeks to slow the spread” is not a viable argument anymore. We know enough and have enough data to open the schools. Education is one of the most essential and important services we have, and yet schools remain closed while bars and restaurants are throwing giant New Year bashes for adults. It’s insane.

Every piece of scientific data we’ve seen points to the fact that Omicron is mild, ESPECIALLY in children. The sniffles last a few days, but for some children, learning loss can be forever. If we give in to irrational fear, we are at risk of depriving an entire generation of children of a proper education, for which society will be paying the costs for decades to come.

Get them back in school, full stop. This is non-negotiable anymore. The US is in the midst of an outbreak as well, but the schools are open and they’ve acknowledged that they made a mistake to close them to begin with. Most of Europe never closed schools at all, and they aren’t seeing any more illness or outbreaks than anywhere else.

We are going to reap a set of harden Criminals…Have the kids in class. Safe them from themselves. The Devil find work for idle hands…Most kids got more respect for teachers than their own parents.

Alot of parents cannot stay home to assist the children which makes it even more difficult.

    • Exactly says:

Who is supervising these children when parents have to work? I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of them are not logging on at all.
