Three more COVID-related deaths recorded
Just days after announcing the BVI’s COVID-19 death toll to be 58, the Ministry of Health today announced even for fatalities.
The territory’s COVID-related deaths have increased by three persons, bringing the total to 61.
These latest casualties were all elderly.
“The deceased are a 91-year-old female and an 82-year-old male who died on February 6 and an 87-year old female who died on February 8,” the ministry stated in a media release this afternoon.
In the meantime, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronald Georges reminded residents that the elderly and otherwise immunocompromised persons are particularly vulnerable to the complications of COVID-19.
“Vulnerable persons should make a special effort to adhere to the public health protocols and avail themselves of opportunities to get vaccinated and boosted to lower their vulnerability to the severe impacts of COVID-19,” Dr Georges said.
He added: “If you are experiencing prolonged fever, breathing difficulties or have any other severe adverse reaction after testing positive for COVID-19 do seek medical attention early.”
The ministry continues to advocate for persons to “reduce their individual risks by getting vaccinated or boosted, washing and/or sanitising hands for 20 seconds, wearing masks properly (ensure mask covers nose and mouth), physically distancing (more than three feet) and covering coughs and sneezes regardless of a person’s vaccination status”.

the point is that they died from Covid complications, in addition to all the other stuff that could have taken them out. This is like saying it’s OK to euthanise old people because they’re going to die soon anyway.

so if all of a sudden the elderlies are dying and if it wasn’t so before who to blame? Make some sense and may-be dollars :/ Covid is REAL! stop taking it for granted for those who are younger and got a touch of it can say their knees were week, they had difficulty pulling the mucus out and the fever, what about the elderly who has complications, eh? smh, stop the ridiculous noise. Though having complications, Covid helped pull them down, sad but a is a fact, if it wasn’t for Covid some would still be hanging in there. lets just face it.
