Top cop explains leaked email that went viral

In an attempt to end speculation among residents, Police Commissioner Mark Collins has explained that a leaked email from his office that recently went viral was not linked to any serious or criminal investigation in the community.

The email hit local social media circles some days ago, triggering widespread speculation as residents sought to know the details which led the Commissioner to send an email to other senior officers, demanding that video footage be destroyed and never be disclosed to the public.

While some residents drew their own conclusions, others simply wanted to know the details that led to the email.

At a press conference yesterday, Commissioner Collins assured that the “evidence” in question was not linked to any matter that is before the courts or in the hands of prosecutors.

“This was an internal matter between two police officers that I dealt with most severely and I said that if an allegation were made that one officer was going to release something about another, I’d refer to my professional standards department. That is the complete and proper thing to do in terms of poor behaviour and poor standards,” Collins revealed.

He added that he was saddened that the email was leaked to social media and also confirmed that both cops who were involved in the incident were no longer part of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.

“I’ve been very clear, it’s not evidence for a particular case. It was between two individual officers. One had threatened to reveal something about another officer and I told him not to do it; and if he did do it, there would be an investigation,” the Commissioner restated pointedly after being pressed by a journalist.

This is why people don’t feel safe speaking to the police. If they can’t keep their own petty business off the street, then how will they secure ours?

Most police officers including some UK officers are afraid to let the evil minded UK Commissioner of Police know their growing concerns about how poor he is running the force. They are saying to persons this is the most divided the force has ever been. They are saying so hoping it does not get back to in the ears of the evil minded UK Commissioner of Police because he will come at them with force as he always have the backing of the Governor no matter what.

He is not being truthful. When you read the email he speaking directly to a matter that was before the DPP. The subject matter is on one issue. The name of the individual was blotted out. He said so in the very email. He is asking for evidence to be destroyed. This is very serious. This commissioner is not trustworthy and he needs to go!

The Police chief is dishonest. There needs to be an investigation. He is no different from any of the public officers that have been suspended. This is an example how the Brits are masters of corruption. Time will tell

Having police in the bvi makes no difference. Heard a st Vincent police pulled a gun on a civilian in the presence of others for no apparent reason. A report was made by all present, and that report is now no where to be found. Some of those cops are no different to the little tugs around here. Who knows what they were into as youngsters in their country.

Mr. Mark Collins please stop lying to the media. Your lies will catch up with you and you will hold your head in ‘shame” if you have any. Remember that what happens in the dark will eventually comes to the light. The explanation you gave concerning the information in the email is incorrect and a blatant lie. Don’t let me expose you. Do the right thing and apologize before you regret making that lying comment.

It is obvious that the police are fighting. Those police from certain places are not easy to work with. When they want you out they will go to all lengths to frame you to sabotage your reputation as they tried to do to Super some years ago.
