Top Ivan Dawson student awarded 2025 memorial scholarship
Twelve-year-old Johnney Immanuel Benjamin has been named the 2025 recipient of the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship, an honour awarded each year to the top graduating student of Ivan Dawson Primary School.
Benjamin, a Class Six standout, earned the scholarship along with multiple trophies and awards during the school’s graduation ceremony held on July 2. In his welcome address, he thanked God, his family, teachers and friends, and encouraged his peers to embrace the future with courage and hope.
“As we step into the future, let us carry forward the lessons we’ve learnt, and the values we’ve upheld,” he told classmates. “Today is not a farewell, but a celebration of the memories we’ve created and the future we’re about to embark upon.”
Known for his academic excellence and positive leadership, Benjamin is also an avid athlete who enjoys basketball, soccer, and track and field. He is the son of Ms. Rosa Lina Reinoso Ramirez.
The Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee offered congratulations and wished Benjamin continued success on his academic journey.
