Tourists did body shots, not cocaine — beach operators

“It was not cocaine. They were doing [alcohol] body shots” — Soggy Dollar

Operators of Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke have sought to ‘clear the air’ about recent reports that a group of Caucasian visitors were caught on camera consuming what was suspected to be cocaine from a woman’s body.

Soggy Dollar said the video footage was captured at the establishment but noted that the visitors were not snorting an illegal substance.

“It was not cocaine. They were doing [alcohol] body shots, and because of the nature of our business – we have kids and we have respectable people that come to our business every day – we do not tolerate that sort of thing,” a representative of the beach facility told BVI News.

The representative further said he was the Soggy Dollar employee who was seen on camera warning the visitors. He said though alcohol is not illegal, it was inappropriate for them to be doing open body shots at the facility.

“I went to them on two occasions. I warned them on both occasions. I told them if I warned them a third time I would have to ask them to leave.”

The representative further underscored that Soggy Dollar does not permit illicit or inappropriate activities at the establishment.

Meanwhile, the video in question was leaked on social media recently with the title ‘Tourists Snorting Coke British Virgin Islands’.

Of course not. In your own home. But in public on a beach with children around? Of course not. There really are scuddy people coming to JVD on those day boats who let themselves and their country down. If this happened in front of their kids in their local park they would be shocked but just because they are on vacation they forget their common sense.

  3. Observant says:

Yeah right. Had their pigment been a few shades darker, I think we would be reading that they were arrested for possession of cocaine. Just my humble opinion.
