Two children abused in separate cases
Two adults have been arrested and charged in relation to separate cases of cruelty to a child, said the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
In an attempt to protect the identities of the two children involved, the RVIPF did not release the names of the accused persons.
In relation to one of the cases, the RVIPF stated that, on July 19, it arrested and charged a 44-year-old male of Hope Hill, Tortola, with cruelty to a child.
He was granted police bail with signed surety in the sum of $5,000. The accused man is to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on September 8.
In relation to the other case, the RVIPF stated that a 50-year-old resident of Parham Town was arrested and charged on July 20. She was granted bail in the sum of $60,000 when she appeared before the Magistrate’s Court.
