Two more COVID-19 deaths as cases continue to fall
Even as active cases continue to rapidly decline, two more COVID-related deaths have been recorded in the territory.
Based on the territory’s latest epidemiological summary, the BVI‘s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 49 persons.
No details of the deaths have been released by officials.
Meanwhile, hospitalisations of persons infected with COVID-19 have also risen sharply to 13. This figure is up from just four persons one week ago.
Total active positive cases of the virus have now dropped to 415, which is a decline of 446 cases since the last COVID-19 report on January 19.
Tortola has seen the most reductions, with cases moving from 687 last week to less than half of that number — 342 — in the latest update.
Cases have also reduced markedly on the sister islands of Virgin Gorda and Anegada. Anegada has moved from 40 cases last week to two cases this week and Virgin Gorda has moved from 131 cases last week to 62 cases this week.
There has been an increase of four new cases on Jost Van Dyke, taking its total to six cases, while another two cases have been added to the total on vessels in the territory; moving that number to three cases.

It is sad. I believe the people with underlying problems needs to take consistent exercise, lots of water and get some sunshine each day. The hospital is a cold storage, maybe this is a factor contributing to those people dying. Move those heavy curtains and let the sun shine in. Walk around a bit, to ensure a some exercise is experience daily.
down there is like a fridge , I always ask how do you deal with this ? and that ain’t no joke
