UK Prime Minister tests positive for coronavirus
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Boris Johnson, has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
In a public statement on Friday, the British Prime Minister said he has ‘mild symptoms’ that include “a temperature and a persistent cough”.
Prime Minister Johnson is now in self-isolation.
“On the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, I’ve taken a test that has come out positive, so I am working from home … But, be in no doubt that I can continue — thanks to the wizardry of modern technology — to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fightback against coronavirus,” Johnson said.
The UK currently has 11,658 cases of COVID-19 with 578 deaths.
In the meantime, news that the British Prime Minister has contracted the virus comes days after his government pledged to assist its Overseas Territories — including the BVI — with medical supplies and other support to tackle COVID-19.

Why did you have to add the last paragraph to this news item? His illness has nothing to do with the fact that he pledged to assist the Overseas Territories.He himself pointed out that he will continue his work along with his assistants.

Both the PM and the Chief of health in the UK both tested positive. In addition, the PM said in the broadcast on BBC he has been shaking everyone hands he visited the hospital and shook people hands who had corona. The UK was pushing for the heard immunity now they can’t control the cases in London how fast it is spreading it will be worse than Italy.
This UK governor needs to be tested.
The virus is no respecter of persons, position, wealth or religion. All persons need to put personal safety measures in place.
exactly. A set of so called big shots think its for a certain class of people only. The testing is only for them and the sickness is for the low class to suffer. Favoritism is high in this whole thing. Only people in the BVI medical world who are deemed worthy are getting tested and the others who even have clear symptoms get the run around.
