The lockdown placed on the state-owned Peebles Hospital on Monday night (November 20) has been lifted.
BVI News understands that the lockdown happened minutes before 8pm when a gunshot victim was brought to the medical facility for treatment.
Highly-placed sources told our news centre that the male victim was brought in an ambulance that was escorted by police.
Reports reaching BVI News is that the man was shot in the legs.
The shooting is said to have happened at the man’s Huntum’s Ghut residence Monday night.
The man is believed to be an educator and his condition is not yet known.
In the meantime, the Road Town-based hospital had what sources described as a heavy police presence after the incident.
