Vehicular crashes and oil spill cause road closure
Three separate vehicular accidents and an oil spill led to the closure of the road between Windy Hill and Stoutt’s Lookout on Tuesday, January 21, according to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
The RVIPF reported that the incidents occurred around 10 a.m., but it remains unclear whether the accidents were caused by the oil spill.
No injuries or casualties were reported at the scenes.
The Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Department has been deployed to address the oil spill, with efforts currently underway to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area until the situation is resolved. Updates on the road’s reopening will be provided as soon as they become available.

Perhaps if the Hon. Minister for Works had deigned to complete the road repairs up there, this wouldn’t have happened.

It is absolutely amazing how this Government has chosen to pave the airport road closest to Trellis when there are many other areas island wide that is in desperate need of new paving! East End alone is in desperate need!
All district reps need to know that all the people on these islands drive through every district – ones that are VIP and others that are NDP – the roads quality is for all people!
