VIDEO: McMaster disqualified; Kelly advances
The British Virgin Islands’ hope of winning its first medal on the international stage became more difficult today when the world leading Kyron McMaster faced disqualification.
As such, he did not advance out of Heat Two at the IAAF World Championship underway in London.
McMaster, 20, was disqualified for lane infringement.
He, in May this year, clocked the world leading time of 47.80 seconds in Jamaica.
Another Caribbean athlete – Jaheel Hyde from Jamaica – competed in the same Heat. He finished second to advance.
The Heat was won by TJ Holmes out of the United States.
In the meantime, Ashley Kelly from the British Virgin Islands advanced in the 400M Heats.
She finished third in Heat One, which was won by Allison Felix out of the United States.
