The Virgin Islands Party (VIP) has officially confirmed its candidates for the Third and Eighth electoral districts.

Former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Works Dr Arlene Smith-Thompson is the VIP’s Third District candidate while former Deputy Commissioner of Customs Dean Byron Fahie is the party’s candidate for the Eighth.

The VIP Congress ratified the two candidates Saturday evening, September 29.

The VIP only now needs to select a candidate for the Second Electoral District to complete its round-up of candidates for all nine electoral districts.

The 8th is sticking with Smurf and you could take that to the bank. We need people who have a heart for the people of our community and has the drive and intellect to move our country forward. Not someone who all of a sudden thinks they care about our community. Where has he been as this time? He better go sit down!

For those of you who say Arlene is the best thing for district 3, could not be more wrong (and if you know better; more stupid).

The mere fact that these two candidates chose to team up under Fahie, tells allot who they are. It was Fahie and Fraser who went to the house of Assembly time and time again to argue non sense, in desperate attempts to make themselves look good. Truth be told, they are all no better, they (the VIP) are worst for this next cycle of elections.

      To whom it may concern
That is what is wrong with the country….those who choose to live outside deciding the fate of those who decide to stay and build the country. Wrong. Wrong
They should not be allowed to vote. Time factor should come into play. How long they living out the country. Do they pay taxes if of workforce age etc
Put that in the pipe and smoke it

Does that mean that all expatriates living in BVI and paying taxes should be allowed to vote? They choose to live there, pay taxes and build the country!

In the past expatriates were allowed to vote, because there were not enough locals to vote. We even had expats in the legislature. When the money pot started to grow, the greedy ‘Leaders’ wanted all for themselves and changed the law. Correct me if I am wrong.

Can you vote in any country in the world if you are not a citizen of that country. You all take Virgin Islanders for a$$es man.

  12. What Time Is It? says:

Go VIP. Its your time. You took your losses with dignity. The game, (and that’s what it seems our politics has com down to), was played very unfairly; perhaps most unfairly ever with NDP calling the Snap election; buying up all the air time, tying up the campaign venues and everything else. No wonder they are in disarray for their overly aggressiveness.
