Walwyn’s Xmas party facilitates donations to FSN
The pantry of local non-profit organisation, the Family Support Network (FSN), received a top-up for the holidays through the annual Christmas party put on by government legislator and Chairman of the National Democratic Party, Myron Walwyn.
The party held last Tuesday facilitated the donation of canned food items, gently-used clothing, and children’s toys to the FSN.
The items have since been handed over to FSN Director, Sasha Stoutt.
“I must express my gratitude to all of you for your donations this evening and over the years. The items that we received tonight will go a far way in spreading Christmas cheer to families in need in our community,” Stoutt said.
“I also encourage you all to continue to do your part by supporting the FSN in our endeavours,” she added.
Walwyn, in the meantime, described the FSN as an organisation that plays a significant role in assisting vulnerable persons in the BVI community. To that end, the minister is encouraging further donations.
“We must ensure that organisations like FSN have adequate support because there are a number a persons who rely on the service offerings of FSN,” he said.
Walwyn has been using his Christmas party to support the FSN since becoming elected into political office. Walwyn has served two terms so far.
