‘We are in this thing together’
Leader of the Opposition Andrew Fahie has urged persons throughout the British Virgin Islands (BVI) to prepare for Hurricane Irma, adding that togetherness is also needed at this time.
He gave the advice as the BVI, as well as several other countries in the Caribbean, remains under hurricane warnings.
“I take this time to encourage all my people of the Virgin Islands to prepare as much as possible for the effect from the impending Hurricane Irma.”
“We are in this thing together. As people of the Virgin Islands, resilience is in our DNA. Please do all that you can to prepare. The rest is in God’s hands and his will will be done. And, when it is, we must accept it and rely on him and him alone to guide and provide for us in the rebuilding of our Virgin Islands.Together, we will be stronger than ever,” added Fahie, who also is elected representative of the First Electoral District.
He stated that, in his district, a number of drains have been cleaned in preparation for the hurricane.
