Wife takes ‘man of the house’ to court
A Jamaican man accused of assaulting his wife has pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate Court.
Raymond Bryan, who resides at Old Plantation, told the court that it was his wife who attacked him.
Police observed ‘scratches’ on Mr Bryan, but his wife appeared to be untouched.
The prosecution told the court that, on August 3 last year, the couple had an argument.
Mr Bryan allegedly started to point his hand aggressively in his wife’s face.
It is further reported that he pushed her, causing her to fall on the bed.
The court heard that the wife stormed outside and called the police.
The accused reportedly informed the cops that he told his wife he is the man of the house, and she scratched him in the face.
The police, who reportedly noted the injuries to his face, eventually charged him.
In court, Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards offered the accused $50,000 bail and referred him to the Partnership for Peace programme.
He is scheduled to return to court on March 10.
