Woman charged for assaulting boyfriend
BVI News understands that a woman was recently arrested and slapped with charges after she assaulted her boyfriend and damaged his vehicle.
It’s understood that an argument ensued when the woman took her boyfriend’s phone and asked for the passcode. When he declined, she refused to return the device.
Our sources say the woman eventually gained access to the device and began sending messages to the victim’s contacts. It’s alleged that she also contacted the man’s employer in an attempt to gain information.
When the man attempted to retrieve his cellphone and his belongings from their shared place of residence, our sources say the woman started hitting him. During the assault, it’s alleged that she threw water on the victim and used stones to damage his vehicle as he drove away from the apartment.
BVI News understands that the man called the police and reported the assault and the damage to his car. The woman was later arrested and charged. Our news centre understands that she was later granted bail.
It’s also alleged that the suspect denied the events and instead claimed that her boyfriend attacked her while he was under the influence of alcohol.
In the meantime, BVI News understands that the woman is set to answer to the charges laid against her in the Magistrates Court in December.
