Flow customers well-positioned to access superior digital experiences
PRESS RELEASE: “Flow Caribbean customers are well-positioned to enjoy unparalleled access to the rapidly expanding data needs of an evolving digital lifestyle,” said Magnus Ternsjo, C&W’s Vice President, Central Caribbean as he addressed the Caribbean Telecommunications Union’s (CTU) 17th Caribbean Ministerial Strategic Seminar to mark ICT – Week September 26-27, 2018 in St Kitts.
The Central Caribbean VP was joined by David Cox, Vice President, Caribbean Regulatory Affairs. They both reiterated Cable & Wireless’s continued commitment to deliver superior digital experiences for customers while collaborating with and supporting regional organizations, governments and regulators for the benefit of the people and economies of the region.
While addressing Telecommunications Ministers, Senior Regulatory Officers, media as well as other participants from the private sector, Ternsjo outlined the company’s strategic vision for the region which includes a more customer-centric approach, delivering technological, ever faster broadband speeds, unmatched video and a superior mobile experience, and an expanded portfolio of managed services for business customers all underpinned by continued community investment.
Ternsjo gave the audience a glimpse into ways in which C&W was already poised to offer customers the ability to share their memorable moments on a global network that is capable of handling ten times the data traffic currently being transmitted.
He went on to add that “part of the strength of our network rests on over 50,000 km of hurricane resilient subsea cables that connect the Caribbean and Latin America to the world. Every day millions of customers depend on us to meet the needs of their business customers, to share memorable moments with their families and loved ones and to access the vast resources of the internet.”
C&W/Flow continues to have an important dialogue with Caribbean Governments to facilitate a more competitive telecommunications environment in the region.

This is for everyone else except the BVI.
When I visited BVI in March I was underwhelmed by the mobile phone infrastructure here. Imagine my surprise then, when visiting St. Thomas to find that ALL of the features from my UK service provider were readily available there, at no extra cost. The same 4g connections, unlimited texting, huge data allowance, free calls and high speed streaming all available to me just a short ferry ride away from BVI. The technology is right here but for some reason it is not being “switched on” in the BVI. Those responsible are holding back growth and development and should be held accountable for the damage that they are doing to the economic prosperity of these beautiful islands.
In the UK, for £50 a month, I could get unlimited texts, 5 GB of 4G Data, unlimited phone calls and high speed connections almost everywhere. That same service is available to me on St. Thomas at no extra charge. Why is it NOT available in BVI? The only reasons that I can think of are profit and greed. The phone companies want us to “pay as we go” at extortionate levels to maximize their profits. As a result they are holding back, actually sabotaging, the economic development of Natures Little Secrets. Someone should be held accountable. The technology exists for world class infrastructure just a short ferry ride from here. Why is it being denied to the people and businesses in the BVI?
LOL: Takes a while for your posts to show up here doesn’t it.
When you are introducing new technology you need somewhere to dump the old stuff. Incapable and Witless dump it in the BVI. And the subservient BVI government lets them get away with it.
50/50. 50mbps for $50 a month
They provide that elsewhere.
Why not here?
Flow needs to tackle the website issues that arise which are telling customers:”We Are Currently Unable to Provide a Shopping Experience for This Country” just because they switched the Internet connection to Antigua and Barbuda.
This was not happening when the Internet was located in British Virgin Islands.
