Irma in Pictures: Going somewhere…

When dawn broke on September 7, BVI News Online Journalist Horace Mills grappled with the fact that he was among residents left without the comfort of the house where he lived.

It was flooded and partially destroyed by category 5 hurricane Irma, which battered the British Virgin Islands with winds of 185 miles per hour (mph) and gusts up to 215mph.

While Mills pondered about how to start picking up the pieces, he picked up his camera and started to walk the debris-littered road between Sea Cows Bay and Nanny Cay.

He was not alone. There were other people walking to…somewhere. A dog opted to run.
