Man accused of beating woman for password

A man who is accused of badly beating his girlfriend for her to disclose her cellular phone password has appeared before Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards.
Tifern Henley, 35, pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The prosecution alleged that, on January 6 last year, the woman was at her Long Look residence that she shared with her then lover, Henley.
An argument ensued between them.
Henley allegedly started to push, choke, and punch the woman in order to get the password to her phone.
Further allegations are that the woman declined to give Henley access to the device, and so she suffered more blows. Henley pushed her against the wall and fisted her several times, the court heard.
It is alleged that he later threw the woman to the ground.
She sustained an eye injury as well as several other injuries to the face.
Senior Magistrate Richards, after hearing the allegations, granted Henley $60,000 bail signed with two sureties.
He is schedule to return to court on October 30.
Meanwhile, Henley has other matters before the court. In one of them, he is accused of indecently assaulting another woman. He is also facing charges of taking a conveyance without lawful authority, criminal damage, as well as reckless and negligent act.
