$113K being spent to improve internet, data services at RVIPF

The government has awarded a $113,000 contract to improve internet and data services throughout the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

The ‘dark fibre network activation’ contract was awarded to Electronic Solutions Ltd. This infrastructure will be installed at police offices across the territory.

A dark fibre network is an underground technological solution that enables excellent internet signal strength.

Once the activation process is completed, the RVIPF will have higher bandwidth, increased data transfer speeds, and greater security for data on its network.

Electronic Solutions won the contract to activate the network after the Cabinet accepted the recommendation from the Central Tenders Board’s (CTB) technical committee sent on September 14

Meanwhile, the government has also retroactively approved the waiver of the tender process to retain a consultant to provide statistician services for the police from May 2020 to December 31, 2021.

According to the government, the statistician, Adrian DaCosta, is retained until a suitable candidate is appointed to the post.

The recruitment process is projected to be completed on November 31, 2021. The agreement between DaCosta and the government is valued at $60,000.

Amazing news, now they can spend even longer in the office on the net instead of outside being seen as a visable deterant to the bands of roving crims who seem to be running free doing what ever they like , i keep seeing busses full of new recruits but they never seem to get out on the road , but then they might have to actually do some work for their paycheck , that is if they are not already running their own lucrative drug smuggling import business which a fair few seem to be doing

They should buy them some tow trucks so they can instantly remove people who park like idiots who block people in with out any thought of care , once they start getting massive fines and paying to get their cars back they might start parking better and more consideration of others
