Accused attempted burglary denied bail

Akeem Stevens

A Harrigan Estate man accused of attempted burglary and criminal trespass was denied bail when he appeared before Magistrate Shawn Innocent on Wednesday.

Charged is Akeem Stevens who was unrepresented and not required to plead during his court appearance.

Allegations are that about 10:30 pm on April 13 this year, the complainant in the matter was at her Diamond Estate residence when she heard her front door rattling.

When she looked outside, she noticed the accused lying next to her vehicle on the ground. He was dressed in a blue hoodie and short pants.

She then sent a text message to her sister asking her to call the police, which the sister did.

The accused disappeared moments before the police arrived on the scene.

Law enforcers later found him in the vicinity without the hoodie.

He was subsequently arrested and charged.

Stevens is scheduled to return to court on December 17.
