Human Resources Manager
The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority seeks to employ an experienced, full-time Human Resources Manager to oversee all Human Resources functions of the Authority, to lead a team of Human Resources professionals and officers, as well as to oversee the Authority’s personnel, industrial relations, training and development plans, occupational health and safety practices which are consistent with the strategic intent of the British Virgin Islands Ports Authority.
Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s degree in human resources, Business Management, or Psychology (Essential for aligning HR with strategic objectives).
- HR Certification and/or Coaching Certification (Preferred for building developmental frameworks).
- 6–10 years’ experience in HR management, particularly in employee relations, performance management, and labor relations.
- Proven ability to advise management and supervise HR staff in a structured, results-oriented environment.
Core Functions:
- Direct all activities involving recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, pension, succession planning, compensation, benefits administration, organizational improvements, promotion, transfer, and dismissal of staff.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the personnel relations activities, policies, and practices of the organization.
- Plan and oversea negotiations and procedures for wage structure, safety, health and related programmes and activities, controlling expenditure and efficient use of resources.
- Interpret all human resource management policies and avails advice to line management and all staff on human resource management issues.
- Ensure all categories of staff are provided with training, certification, and development opportunities.
- Design, develop, and implement appropriate Human Resource Management Strategy, Action Plans and Programmes for use at British Virgin Islands Port Authority.
- Ensure compliance with standards and legislation relating to employees’ rights.
- Consults with internal and external stakeholders on human resource matters.
- Present proposals for and implements approved programmes for the organizational development and organizational change initiatives contemplated by the British Virgin Islands Port Authority.
- Direct the activities and work programmes of support staff for the Human Resources Department.
- Act as the internal consultant and authority on all Human Resources related matters; and
- Prepare an annual Budget for the Human Resources Department.

- Employee Relations Expertise: Skilled in conflict resolution and performance improvement.
- Learning & Development: Capable of building growth-focused training frameworks.
- Data-Driven HR Management: Use of HR metrics to inform decisions and optimize HR operations.
- Communication & Coaching: Excellent interpersonal skills for staff development and executive advising.
Salary: Remuneration/Benefits will be based on qualification and experience.
