VACANCY: CARPENTER / CONTRACTING ASSISTANT

​Wazim Carpentry & General Contracting Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Carpenter / Contracting Assistant to join our team for projects in Tortola.

​Duties & Responsibilities:

• ​Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate materials required.
• ​Cut, shape, and assemble wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• ​Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
• ​Assist the General Contractor with framing, roofing, finish carpentry, and day-to-day site preparation and safety management.
• ​Operate commercial power tools, measuring instruments, and structural layout equipment safely and efficiently.

​Requirements:

• ​Minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in commercial and residential carpentry and structural framing.
• ​Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage physical demands on active construction sites.
• ​Strong communication skills, a team-oriented attitude, and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
• ​Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours or weekends depending on project deadlines.
