Alleged thief caught, hospitalised with multiple wounds

BVI News understands that a man who broke into a home in Sea Cow’s Bay last week was left with multiple injuries and stab wounds after being caught and reportedly beaten by the property owner.

According to sources, the incident occurred last Saturday afternoon when the homeowner, who was inside at the time, noticed that certain fixtures in his house had been moved. Upon investigating further, he discovered that several window panes were missing, suggesting a recent break-in.

The homeowner reportedly went to a room where he had stored an undisclosed sum of cash and found the money missing. He then observed a man standing in his yard, apparently attempting to enter his vehicle. The homeowner is said to have armed himself with a knife and ran outside to confront the suspect.

A physical altercation ensued, during which the homeowner reportedly stabbed the suspect multiple times in the chest and other areas. The suspect also wounded the homeowner, but reportedly stopped his attack to tend to his own injuries.

A passerby is said to have witnessed the incident and alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect unresponsive. He was transported to the hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.

When questioned by police, the homeowner reportedly claimed he acted in self-defence and showed officers the injuries he sustained. He did not require hospitalisation. The homeowner also pointed out several items at the scene that the suspect allegedly attempted to steal.

It is unclear to BVI News whether formal charges were laid against the suspect or whether the homeowner will face any legal consequences.

    God be with you
More than likely wexwont be given the id and photo of the low life which would give us a lead and or warning regarding the thief but with a lil.luck it’s funeral will be deservedly forthcoming in the near future as his anhialation needs to be completed one way or another. We will now be robbed of his name and his mugshot while remaining sitting ducks. A crime perpetrated on us the civil service criminals funded by our sweat.

  15. Stand your ground says:

Slice and diced! This is why we need legally owned firearms for such incidents. What if the thief was armed with weapons? The law needs to change to reflect the state we are living in.

Give me MY RIGHTS TO BEAR ARMS!!!!

Times have changed and how many more innocent lives must be lost to brazen criminals? How many more!!! I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 12 men it the church to the hurst!

would have finished this thief so straight to the morgue.

  17. Look at that says:

Suppose the piece of trash had a gun and killed the homeowner. Then the half CROCKED law in this place would have given the killer bail to go back on the streets if he was found. Every home owner have a right to protect there homes from things like this. Just imagine someone enter your home the place you should feel safe in , your sanctuary and violate. Protect your home people from these brazen thieves. Do what you have to do to protect yourself and homes.

  18. And says:

While the thief was laying on the ground unresponsive the home owner should have finish him off with a tire iron or a piece of 2×4. I have no mercy for thiefs.

I am a peaceful law abiding citizen but let me catch one of them in my home or roaming around my property, you know the rest of the story. It is worth it to invest in small security cameras for the back and front windows of your homes. When not home you can monitor the cameras from wherever you are on your phone to see if and anything going on around your home.

No need for Johnny Law or added expense in the NHI.

THAT’S SELF DEFENSE. I WANNA BE A JUROR ON THE CASE WHEN IT COMES VERDICT: NOT GUILTY
THE HOMEOWNER HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTECT HIMSELF AND HIS HOME.
THAT THIEVING, STICKY FINGER IDIOT HAD NO CALL IN THE MAN HOME SO WHAT HE GOT HE HAS TO TAKE.
SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MORGUE HE HAD TO GO ON.
IF HE SURVIVES HIS INJURIES, THIS SHOULD BE A WAKE UP CALL. I BET HIS ASS WOULDN’T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.
TO ALL THE THIEVES OUT THERE, THIS SHOULD BE A LESSON TO ALL OF U.
