ARREST BLOTTER: January 29 to February 4

The following is the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s list of people charged from January 29 to February 4, 2017:

Theft

On 03-02-2017 at 0935hrs – Police arrested and charged Edmond Abel, 34, a national of Dominica for theft and false accounting.

Burglary

On 01-02-2017 at 1315hrs – Police arrested and charged Hakeem Leonard, 27, of the Valley, Virgin Gorda for burglary.

Unlawful possession of controlled drug

1. On 31-01-2017 at 2126hrs – Police arrested and charged Nigel Prince, 41, of West End for the offence unlawful possession of controlled drug.

2. On 01-02-2017 at 1530hrs – Police arrested and charged Kasim Benti, 38, of Kingston for unlawful possession of a controlled drug. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 with one signed surety to appear at Magistrate’s Court at John’s Hole on 17-03-2017 at 0900hrs.

Driving a motor vehicle when not secured by a seatbelt

On 02-01-2017 at 1838hrs – Police arrested and charged Marckenson Tima, 33, a native of Haiti residing at Kingston for driving a motor vehicle when not secured by a seatbelt, and indecent language in a public place. He was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 with one signed surety to appear at the Magistrate’s Court in John’s Hole on 17-03-2017 at 0900hrs.

Assault causing actual bodily harm

1. On 29-01-2017 at 1415hrs – Police arrested and charged Richard Waters, 46, of the Valley, Virgin Gorda for assault causing actual bodily harm. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety for to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 14-03-2017.

2. On 04-02-2017 at 0018hrs – Police arrested and charged George Ollivierre, 24, of Greenland for assault causing actual bodily harm. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000.

3. On 02-02-2017 at 1600hrs – Police arrested and charged Trey Williams, 23, a native of St Thomas residing at East End for assault causing actual bodily harm.

4. On 02-04-2017 at 1240hrs – Police arrest and charged David Anderson of Long Bush for assault causing actual bodily harm.

Driving without a driver’s licence

1. On 30-01-2017 at 1939hrs – Police arrested and charged Josefina Tavarez of Purcell Estate for dangerous driving, driving without a driver’s license, driving without insurance, driving without crash helmet, and failing to stop at the sound of a police siren. She was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 with one signed surety for her appearance at Magistrate’s Court John’s Hole on 10-03-2017 at 0900hrs.

2. On 31-01-2017 at 1115hrs – Police arrested and charged Ronnie David of Purcell Estate for using indecent language, disorderly conduct, insulting language, assaulting police, and using a cell while operating a vehicle. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court in John’s Hole on 10-03-2017 at 0900hrs.

3. On 31-01-2017 at 1828hrs – Police arrested and charged Keiny Gonzalez, 27, of Baughers Bay for driving without driver’s license, driving an uninsured vehicle, driving unlicensed vehicle, driving without front and rear identification plate, and driving unregistered vehicle.

4. On 02-02-2017 at 1634hrs – Police arrested and charged Simon King, 27, a native of Guyana residing at Baughers Bay on driving without driver’s licence, driving an unlicensed motorcycle, driving an uninsured motorcycle and giving police false information.

5. On 02-02-2017 at 2230hrs – Police arrested and charged Ashemba Frett of Belle Vue for driving a motorcycle above the prescribed limit, illegal importation, reckless driving, resisting arrest, assaulting police, and driving without a driver’s licence within that class.

6. On 02-04-2017 at 1110hrs – Police arrested and charged Joel Douglas, 18, of Lambert Estate for driving without driver’s licence, driving unlicensed vehicle, driving uninsured vehicle, driving when not covered by a policy of insurance, and riding as a passenger when not secured by a seatbelt.

7. On 02/02/2017 at 1235hrs – Police arrested and charged Vernon Bernard of Huntums Ghut for driving without a driver’s licence, driving an unlicensed vehicle, failing to give name when requested, and driving an uninsured vehicle. He granted bail in the sum of $2,000 with one signed surety to appear at Magistrate’s Court, John’s Hole, on 17-03-2017 at 0900hrs.

Carry firearm without licence

On 31-01-2017 at 1700hrs – Police arrested and charged Omarie Winter, 19, of Nibbs Estate for unlawful possession of explosives and carry firearm without license.

Unlawful sexual intercourse with girl under 16

On 02-04-2017 – Police arrested and charged Akeem Jamaal Sebastian, 32, of Long Bush for unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16.
