Arrest Blotter: Murder, robbery, drugs listed

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is reporting nine arrests between August 19 and September 1.

The accused persons were implicated for a number of charges ranging from murder and drug offences to robbery, among other things.

In its latest arrest blotter, the RVIPF listed those persons and their charges as follows:

Attempting to unlawfully discharge a firearm 

Police arrested and charged Brandon Riley of North Road, Virgin Gorda on August 8 for attempting to unlawfully discharge a firearm, possession of an offensive weapon, and common assault. He appeared before Magistrate’s Court and was remanded.

Unlawful possession of a controlled drug

On August 24, police arrested and charged Chenelle Castello of Johnsons Ghut for unlawful possession of a controlled drug and unlawful possession of a cannabis with intent to supply. She has been granted bail to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on October 5.

Police also arrested and charged Emerald Gumbs of Johnsons Ghut for the same offence. Gumbs was arrested on August 24 has been granted bail to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on October 5.

Donnell Blyden of Cane Garden Bay was also arrested and charged on August 27 for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He was granted bail to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on October 5.

Indecent language

On August 22, police arrested and charged Vanneto Thomas of Long Look for obstructing traffic and using indecent language. Thomas was granted $2,000 bail ahead of his appearance at Magistrate’s Court on October 12.

On August 23, police arrested and charged Clifton Frett of Belle Vue for using threatening language, indecent language, disorderly conduct, and driving without a front identification plate. He was granted bail and will appear at the Magistrate’s Court on October 5.

Murder
Sean Martin of Johnson Ghut was arrested for murder on August 25. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded.

Criminal damage

On August 24, police arrested and charged Randy Ashton of Georges Northside for criminal damage. Ashton was granted bail to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on October 5.

Robbery

Police also arrested and charged 32-year-old Vincentian, Gideon Quow for robbery. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 with one signed surety for his appearance at Magistrate’s Court on November 23.
