ARREST BLOTTER: Police nab 7 this month

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is reporting seven arrests between April 1 and 7.

Among those arrested are persons accused of drug possession, traffic offences, and other charges such as using insulting language.

In its latest arrest blotter, the RVIPF listed those persons and charges as follows:

Driving without licence

On April 4, police arrested and charged Michael Ashby of Main Street for driving without a driver’s license, driving without insurance, driving an unlicensed and uninsured vehicle, unlawful possession of cannabis, and driving without a rear identification plate.

He was granted $5,000 bail and will appear in the Magistrate’s Court on May 18.

Burglary

Police arrested and charged 21-year-old Kemanie Christopher of Fat Hogs Bay on April 5 for burglary, criminal damage, and threatening to destroy.

Unlawful possession of a controlled drug

Carlos Emanuel Chinnery of Greenland was arrested and charged on April 5 for unlawful possession of cannabis and for a tinted windows traffic offence. He was granted $2,500 bail for his appearance before the Magistrate’s Court on May 18.

On April 6, police arrested and charged 23-year-old Charles Rochester of Baughers Bay for unlawful possession of cannabis. He was granted police bail and will appear before the Magistrate’s Court on May 18.

On April 7, police arrested and charged Malik Maduro of Lower Estate for unlawful possession of cannabis.

Verne Forbes, Jr of Sea Cow’s Bay was also arrested on that date for unlawful possession of cocaine.

Obstructing police

Police also arrested and charged 30-year-old Alexandra Durante of Sage Mountain on April 7.

The accused was charged with obstructing police, indecent language, insulting language, and abusive language. She was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 to appear in Magistrate’s Court on May 18.

    Hundreds of varied nationalities and races in the BVI.
    Yet, all reported arrestees are Black and except for one are males.
    So who is making the BVI another predictable crime infested Caribbean destination of Black perpetrators?

    they are at fault. Let the cops be cops!!!….stop calling criminals….victims, it just falsely empowers them

    Drug use on a public beach which was crowded at the time has went on with out an issue. Check You tube video Soggy Dollar Bar British Virgin Islands. A group of white males snorting lines off a woman’s stomach. Does the law actually allow cocaine use in BVI?
